New Jersey
New Jersey is a state in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States. It lies largely within the sprawling metropolitan areas of New York City and Philadelphia. It is the most densely populated state in the United States.
The area was inhabited by Native Americans for more than 2,800 years, with historical tribes such as the Lenape along the coast. In the early 1600s, the Dutch and the Swedes made the first European settlements. The English later seized control of the region, naming it the Province of New Jersey. New Jersey was the site of several decisive battles during the American Revolutionary War.
In the 19th century, factories in cities such as Paterson and Trenton helped to drive the Industrial Revolution. New Jersey's position at the center of the Northeast megalopolis, between Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington, D.C., fueled its rapid growth through the suburban boom of the 1950s and beyond. Today, New Jersey has the highest population density and the second highest median income of any state in the United States.

We’ll start our trip from New Jersey as if we were coming from New York City (as it was initially planned). The route starts just after the Outerbridge which crosses the NY/NJ state line. It goes West-South-West from Perth Amboy to Lamberville. It is pretty short and flat, good for an easy start! We should only stay 1 or 2 days in New Jersey.

Aujourd’hui, le New Jersey a la plus grande densité de population et le deuxième plus gros revenu moyen des Etats-Unis.

Notre chemin démarre donc juste après le Outerbridge qui traverse la frontière NY/NJ et l’on va Ouest-Sud-Ouest de Perth Amboy à Lamberville. La traversée du New Jersey par cette route est courte et plate, parfait pour le départ ! On devrait rester au New Jersey seulement 1 ou 2 jours.
